Kanye West’s ‘Jesus is King’ album still isn’t here, fans aren’t happy

Kanye West fans are again expressing disappointment after the rapper failed for a second time this weekend to release the album he had announced would drop over the weekend.

West’s ninth album, “Jesus is King,” was first expected to be released Friday at midnight. His wife, Kim Kardashian West, had been promoting a potential album release all week on Twitter, and West’s website still features what appeared to be a “Jesus is King” setlist with Sept. 27 as the release date.

But midnight came and went, and no new music became available to fans. Kardashian West turned to her Instagram Story late Friday with a new date: “He’s dropping the album Sunday,” she wrote. “Just a few final tweaks to the mixes.”

West pulled a similar stunt last year, teasing the release of a project titled “Yandhi” for Black Friday 2018 before failing to drop an album that day and announcing several months later that it had been delayed indefinitely.

“And another broken promise,” one Twitter user complained to West with the hashtag #JesusIsKing.

More fans took to social media to share their frustration through humor after yet another release date passed without an album.

“How Kanye West gonna be sleeping tonight after not dropping his album again,” one user wrote, captioning a photo of West soundly asleep.

Refreshing my feed and waiting on @kanyewest for this #JesusIsKing album like…” another user captioned a GIF of a clown.

Others had a one-track mind: “Where’s the album,” one user repeated 13 times.
