Close to 1,500 people were fed a free meal at the “Feast in the East” event Friday afternoon at the Waco Multi-purpose facility at 1020 Elm Ave.
In addition to free meals, blankets, coats, and diapers were given out to families in need.
This is the fourth year the event has been help, and this year the city of Waco proclaimed December 20, 2019 as “Feast in the East Day.”
The East Waco Empowerment Project helped organize the event.
