Bell County public health officials have announced the first presumptive Coronavirus (COVID19)case.
According to a news release, the individual is undergoing confirmation testing with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The patient is 29 years old.
According to the release, the male patient in Belton has a travel history of visiting Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France between March 4 and March 10.
The District has initiated self-isolation protocol and is tracing the patient’s contact.
Right now, this puts the county’s Phase 2 plan into action which means the patient must stay at least 6 feet away from other people and avoid social and workplace areas.
It also requires the patient to follow all of the guidelines of Stage 1 which are: to stay home if they are sick, avoid contact with anyone else, avoid touching their face and wash their hands and surfaces touched regularly.
