McLennan County reports one new COVID-19 case; 4 have recovered

McLennan County Friday reported one new case of COVID-19 and said four of those diagnosed with the virus have recovered.

Four others remain hospitalized.

The cases are all community spread.

“They got it in McLennan County, they got it from close contact. This is community, person-to-person spread. You can get it now in McLennan County. It is in our community,” Waco-McLennan County Health District spokeswoman Kelly Craine said Wednesday.

None has died.

No details were released about the residents diagnosed with the new virus..

One of the 28 worked in training operations at the Department of Public Safety office at 1617 Crest Drive in Waco.

That person last worked at the office on March 16.

The office is closed for decontamination.

An employee of the DPS office at 2501 South Loop 121 in Belton also has a confirmed case of the virus.
