The Waco School Board voted Tuesday to extend school closings for at least another two weeks as part of the effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.
Schools will remain closed at least until April 21 as a result of the vote.
Students have been home since leaving for spring break on March 6.
The board also voted Tuesday to postpone the May 2 school board election until Nov. 3, but the district will join other local entities including the City of Waco in asking Gov. Greg Abbott to allow local elections to be held in conjunction with the state’s rescheduled primary runoff vote on July 14.
