Local distribution company donates pallets of water to help authorities beat the heat

A local distribution company is stepping up to ensure firefighters and officers stay hydrated in the heat while on the job.

Jay Shults of the Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department reached out to the Jack Hilliard Distributing Company for water donations.

The company went right to work, delivering pallets of water inside beer cans with the word “water” on them.

The water will be distributed to fire departments and law enforcement agencies throughout Falls County.

“We’re always looking for donations and always looking to help each other. We’re a nice, tight-knit community,” said Shults.

“It’s a great effort that he goes through to do this, and it’s a very big help to all the agencies in the county,” said Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman.

The water will also be used in various situations, especially with dealing with larger fires or other issues while in the hot sun.
