
WWE Hall of Famer Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson, born Wade Douglas Bowels, has passed away at the age of 75.
Johnson is the father of superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and has a career that includes being a World Tag Team Champion. He joined WWE in 1983 after a successful start to his career with the National Wrestling Alliance. He teamed with Tony Atlas as the Soul Patrol and became the first African-American World Tag Team Champions in WWE history when they beat The Wild Samoans in December of 1983.
Johnson would assist in training his son Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson after his retirement in 1991. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008.
Numerous wrestling stars have extended their condolences to The Rock in his time of bereavement.
