Employee of local H-E-B store tests positive for COVID-19

heb19

An employee of the H-E-B store on Wooded Acres Drive in Waco has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the San Antonio-based chain confirmed Friday.
The employee was last in the store on Monday.
The company declined to identify the employee by name or position, but said the store has been sanitized repeatedly since Monday.
“At impacted locations, all directly affected partners are notified and provided medical advice, each location is deep cleaned and sanitized multiple times. Customers can visit their store’s website to see when an affected partner last worked in their store,” the chain said.
In early April the chain said it was providing all of its employees from the warehouse to the checkout counter with protective masks and gloves this weekend to use while at work.
Employees must continue to observe social distancing guidelines, wash hands frequently and use hand sanitizer, the company said.
H-E-B earlier designated an employee in each of its stores as a COVID action manager whose job it is to ensure those requirements are being followed.
H-E-B also installed Plexiglas partitions at check stands, implemented metered entry into stores, developed guidelines to manage customer traffic and placed decals on floors to identify proper social distances.
