Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has decided to end his retirement and will return to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys announced they agreed to contract terms that will bring Witten back as a player for the 2019 NFL season.

Witten retired last year to pursue a broadcasting job with ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

According to the Cowboys, this was completely his decision and he said he’s looking forward to getting back to playing.

“The fire inside of me to compete and play this game is just burning too strong,” Witten said in a statement. “This team has a great group of rising young stars, and I want to help them make a run at a championship. This was completely my decision, and I am very comfortable with it. I’m looking forward to getting back in the dirt.”
