R. Kelly’s ex-wife Drea Kelly wants to make it adamantly clear that she has nothing to do with the new documentary installment, Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning on Lifetime TV.

Despite the requests by the former wife of the troubled R&B star, Lifetime still used the footage from the original Surviving docuseries in the official trailer of the second installment of Surviving, which didn’t air until yesterday(Dec. 11, 2019).

Drea said that she wasn’t with the backlash from the public or the total disrespect by the Lifetime network of her children and other family members after she requested that they do not contact them about Surviving and they disregarded her request. She also claimed that Lifetime was very unsupportive of the victims in the R. Kelly scandal.

Drea wants it to be clear that the trailer is misleading and “she has no involvement, did not approve any footage or stills of her likeness and is not actively promoting, nor consulting the follow-up series.”

Drea plans to sue Lifetime for including her in the trailer of the documentary without her consent.
